Honeywell tests unjammable quantum magnetic navigation without using GPS
Honeywell and the Defense Innovation Unit recently evaluated a quantum magnetic navigation prototype on an Embraer E170 during a four-hour flight from Seattle to Alaska. By reading the natural magnetic field of the Earth, the hardware provides reliable position data without relying on vulnerable satellite networks. The evaluation demonstrated an eighty-nine percent accuracy increase compared to conventional backup setups, displaying the results on standard cockpit tablets. As global GPS spoofing incidents rise, this development offers crews a promising, unjammable alternative for maintaining situational awareness.
