FAA Projects 24,000 Air Taxi Flights in First Year
The FAA anticipates that advanced air mobility aircraft could log over 24,000 departures in their first full year of domestic operations. According to the agency's latest forecast, early operations will likely launch with just seven airframes in two distinct markets, primarily flying as airport shuttles. By the sixth year, that footprint is projected to scale up to 367 aircraft generating nearly 1.6 million annual flights. For current students and commercial pilots, this aggressive growth curve signals a massive new sector for entry-level flying jobs and airspace integration challenges.
